After refining her talent as a classically trained vocal artist, and securing a multi-dimensional career as a manager in a Fortune 500 company, Ms. Patton turned to the visual medium of oil painting to combine her rare sensitivity to business and culture.
Irene's art emphasizes tenacious existence and hope, relating to the viewer at an emotional level, either through impact or contemplation, which is evident in the variety of style and themes she pursues. At the heart of her work, she articulates the potential in our human state, which is evidenced by her own life experiences. She treasures the relationships of her family and friends as life's challenges provide the basis of her desire to address the limits established in our society of personal as well as collective boundaries through her activism and her art.
A graduate cum laude of the University of San Diego in Music Performance (with honors) and Studio Art, Ms. Patton's degree work included residence in Florence, Italy as well as Salzburg and Bregenz, Austria, studying artistic expression and language.
Ms. Patton is deeply committed to community involvement and participates in numerous programs, working with those members of our society who find themselves marginalized. She has also been actively involved in San Diego's Historic Redevelopment Project at the former Naval Training Center on Point Loma where her artwork has been displayed. Irene has exhibited throughout Southern California and in Europe. Her paintings are held in several corporate and private collections, including St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral, and elsewhere in the U.S. and abroad.
If asked, Irene will tell you her goals are to combine her passion for understanding human nature with her insights of business and culture in her contemporary work as an artist. Whether her audience is corporate or private, she hopes her viewers will experience transcendency in the images she creates as her art subtly confronts their learned boundaries.
